johanna started her professional career working in berlin where she developed an appreciation for historic preservation, clean details and tilt-turn windows. her work has since lead her to chicago, detroit, and the bay area, doing everything from dipping her toes into projects like modular harvest tools for an urban farm and working on single family prefab homes, to fully immersing herself in complex multi-family housing projects. johanna has experience working on teams of all sizes, and with various design / budget / schedule constraints. she is passionate about sustainable, high quality building solutions that prioritize the end user.
casey has over a decade of extensive experience working in varied collaborative architectural environments and respectable offices/studios. as an accomplished project designer, he has worked on large international cultural and institutional developments as well as historic building and environmental infrastructure renewal projects. In addition to his experience and exposure to a vast array of project types, casey also has an in-depth knowledge base of the 3D production, visualization, and fabrication tools of the design + building industry. with this combined experience, casey is able to bring a unique skillset to any project and aid in defining highly sophisticated architectural vision and solutions, regardless of the constraints that complicate each design scenario.

growing up in latin america helped carlos see the impact environmental factors can have on people. his view that architecture can be a vehicle for social change helps him find flexible and creative solutions to design problems. from designing custom homes in los angeles’ hip neighborhoods to working on hospitals and gyms in central california, carlos offers a diverse range of skills and experience. as job captain, he is committed to the delivery of architecture with a high degree of quality, with a keen eye for detail.
laura handles all things marketing-related at brick. she produces all of brick's proposals and is responsible for keeping the website up-to-date. prior to brick, laura worked at a graphic design firm in san francisco, an art gallery / art consulting firm in oakland, and was in the magazine publishing industry for many years before that. she has a strong design / editing / layout background, and loves finessing type and graphic design.
gina is a project designer who works to design innovative and inspiring solutions to built environment needs. she believes that we can all tell when care and quality are put into a product, building, design, or idea. gina has been a project manager and designer for residential, retail, and non-profit projects with firms in new york and california. an early adopter of sustainable strategies, she is a LEED AP and served as the chair of the commercial committee for the colorado green building guild. while pursuing her graduate degree, gina earned recognition including the alpha rho chi medal of honor for leadership. while studying architecture, her research included technology’s current and future role in design and construction, public architecture, and a building’s potential to be integrated into the ecology of its site.
